Manasa Publications is thrilled to announce our “Manasa Lit Prize” - A Novel Competition for New Women Writers, aimed at encouraging and amplifying the voices of women storytellers across India. This competition seeks to uncover powerful, diverse narratives that reflect the richness of women perspectives. Winners will not only receive cash prizes but also have the opportunity to see their works published!

Submission Guidelines:
- The competition is open to Women Writers residing in India.
- Submissions must be original, unpublished works of fiction.
- Writers who have more than 1 book published are not allowed to participate.
- Manuscripts should be between 40,000 to 80,000 words.
- Entries must be in English.
- Each participant may submit only one manuscript.
- Co-authored works will not be accepted.
How to Submit:
- Send your manuscript in Word format to connect@manasapublications.com with the subject line: "Submission - Manasa Lit Prize - For Young Adults / Adults - [Your Name]".
- Attach a cover page with:
- Your full name
- Age category (Student or General)
- Email and phone number
- A short bio (max 200 words)
- Submissions are open from 1st March 2025 and close on 31st August 2025
Other information:
- Format of submission: Word document, 12pt, double spaced. Please mention the title of the story, the name of the author and your name on the first page.
- Selection criteria: Since our focus is on encouraging literary works, the selection criteria will accord significant weightage to the literary/aesthetic vision of the novel, apart from other categories such as language, form etc.
- Publication: Manasa will have the first rights to publish the shortlisted novels digitally and/or in print form.
Timelines:
- Submissions are open from 1st March 2025 IST.
- Last date for submission: 31st August 2025, 11.59pm IST. (Extension of timeline will not be entertained under any circumstances)
- Winners to be announced – January 31st 2026 (TENTATIVE)
Terms and Conditions:
- Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration by any other publisher
- Winners and selected novels will grant publication rights to Manasa Publications.
- The editorial team reserves the right to suggest edits before final publication.
- Decisions by the judging panel are final and binding.
- Cash prizes will be distributed upon announcement of winners.
- By entering, participants agree to allow Manasa Publications to publicize excerpts of their work for promotional purposes.
- Manasa holds the rights to indulge in promotional activities of the publishing novels and/or author. We expect cooperation from the author.
- Plagiarized entries will be disqualified immediately.
